Making the Levelling Pad on Excavation pit.

There are several ways to make levelling pad, for any RE Wall on the excavation pit. You can make a curved levelling pad, straight levelling, one step up-&-one step down etc. But in my case the curve levelling pad is followed, as the RE Wall structure will be in curve position 😂.

And so levelling pad is also made like this, as per the drawing.
Levelling pad is made curved. This is the image of backfill after making the levelling pad.

So levelling pad is made like this. Now the steps to follow to make a levelling pad are as follows :

First you do excavation. And for doing excavation you can read this article. All steps and process were described briefly. You can do excavation either by JCB or with Falkland also. Since the excavation is large and long, you cannot do by hand-made labors. It will take more time and as well as more economy will also be lose. So to do these type of excavation machinery equipment is used.

After making excavation, you go for the ground improvement work. All these steps were given in brief in that article. Because without ground improvement, no above structure work can be done. Because it keeps a barrier between above soil and below soil. So that it can maintain their plastic limit and doesn't mix with the below soil. Because in below soil liquidity index is more, and as a result capillary rise of water will be more. So to avoid this capillary rise of action in water, this ground improvement work is done.

And after doing this ground improvement work and filling up with GSB, the main work begins. You arrange the labors and tell the supervisor's about the work how to do, how to maintain & how to make alignment of all. Then they will carry out the work, and you sometimes-sometimes look at it whether their way of doing work is proper or not. The labors will handle all of these, only just you need to advice what do to step-by-step. And also for the supervisor's also, how bring the work forward/ in progress.

First where the PCC will be done, level it with the help of levelling staff by Auto-Level. After that excavate it or cut the GSB (if it's excess) below 150mm down where the level is done. So that PCC can be maintained at the same level. So after doing all these works fill the cutting area with GSB if water is present or dewater it. Then bring the shuttering plates and place it where the PCC will be done.

And after giving all these shuttering plates you know the further process what to do. Just think about for a minute!!!!!! So, I think maybe you have guessed the right. It's about concreting. To prepare the mix of the concrete. Well, but the grade should be M15. You make these concrete mix either in mixer machine or in Ajax Fiori. And then do the concreting work.

OR

AND AFTER THAT

So this is the only step by step process to do the PCC work for the Levelling pad. But before doing PCC you see that whether all the dimensions are correct or not? Whether the PCC is at required position or not? Not only these, you see whether the level is maintained or not for the PCC work. You do one thing, take a thin rope (or say suta, called in our local languages) and tie it from one end to the other to do the PCC at proper level. Like this, you can see at the image.

After doing all this you PCC is ready. And the very next day you can see it whether the PCC quality is good or not and if it's cured or not. So this is how the Levelling pad PCC is made. And after that you go for further process, such as marking the center line of PCC to fix the panels, doing backfill etc. and etc.

Thank you 💝.

MACHINES USED AT CONSTRUCTION SITES

The most commonly used machine at any construction site is JCB where it's technical name is Backhoe. It is the most common and widely used machine in any construction project whether its big or small project. It becomes easier and makes the work faster for the companies at any time of interval.    All other machines such as Transit Mixer, Concrete Mixer, Roller etc are also used in any kind of road project or building project. Transit Mixer is used for large large building projects, bridge projects, some kind of road projects etc. whereas concrete mixer is for small building projects. Roller is used for road project and bridge project for its elevation.  For any building project the most commonly used machines are concrete mixer, transit mixer, concrete pump, bar bending machine, needle vibrator, water pump and many more. All these machinery works make the work easier and faster. Otherwise if the work is done with labourers it will take more time and less efficient ...

How to edit grid systems in Etabs

Okk in the last blog I had discussed about Etabs for beginners. You have got at least some ideas about it. If you have not seen it then click here . But here I am going to discuss how you will edit Grids/Columns in Etabs. As I had said by clicking on "Modify/Show Grid Systems" option a new dialog box appears, their you can edit anything. But you can also do it by different way. On the left side in grid dimensions (plan) you can see that two options are available. One is "Uniform Grid Spacing" and the other is "Custom Grid Spacing". Click on the "Custom Grid Spacing" and you see that Edit Grid Data option is available. Just click on that, and you can edit it as you want by giving the required dimensions in X-axis and Y-axis only. Ok whatever be lets come to the topic. If you have done it like as I have shown earlier then follow those steps. And the one who were new to this blog this is just for that. That's why I underlined with BLUE line an...

Excavation for RE Wall.

So, hey guys! How are you? You might have read my previous blogs about panel casting  and panel placing . Now it's time to learn about panel erection or what to do after 3-4 months of casting the panels. So the first step is about excavation for RE Wall. Then only you can erect the panels. So let us learn about this excavation part.  You all know excavation work is done by JCB or Falkland. To excavate the soil and then carry it to the other dumped areas. But before excavation you all know, to marked the center line as well as the outer line also so that the area doesn't excavate much as per the requirement. For excavation just you need to take 500mm more, then that of the given drawing.  Doing this excavation is easy. But what to do if it's flooded with rain water/ or water coming from other sources. Definitely your answer will be to do dewatering work with a water pump. That's fine. But do this dewatering work with almost by fixing 3-4 water pumps. So that it soaks...
