How to edit grid systems in Etabs

Okk in the last blog I had discussed about Etabs for beginners. You have got at least some ideas about it. If you have not seen it then click here. But here I am going to discuss how you will edit Grids/Columns in Etabs. As I had said by clicking on "Modify/Show Grid Systems" option a new dialog box appears, their you can edit anything. But you can also do it by different way. On the left side in grid dimensions (plan) you can see that two options are available. One is "Uniform Grid Spacing" and the other is "Custom Grid Spacing". Click on the "Custom Grid Spacing" and you see that Edit Grid Data option is available. Just click on that, and you can edit it as you want by giving the required dimensions in X-axis and Y-axis only. Ok whatever be lets come to the topic. If you have done it like as I have shown earlier then follow those steps. And the one who were new to this blog this is just for that. That's why I underlined with BLUE line and written with blue.

Now when the next dialog box appears Grid Systems Data, in the Rectangular Grids you see that two options are available. Click on "Display Grid Data as Spacing" because that will be more easier for you. You can specify required dimensions on X-coordinates and Y-coordinates respectively. And if you want more then there is an Add option near it, just click on that and give the dimensions as per your requirement. The required plan will be shown on the top right corner white box. You can see your plan there. And after creating this what to do after that. πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ Don't think, just click on OK button and required plan will appear on your screen like this.

So what to do after that, don't wait. Be advanced then only you will learn fast technique. On left hand side i.e., left border you can see turtle button, draw beam, draw column, roof and many more buttons. You click on "Quick Draw Beam " button so that it will draw the beam quickly. Yes become smart whatever others say.

Click on this

Not on this.
This will draw the beam quickly, means you only just click on the beam and it will be drawn automatically by itself. But whereas Draw Beam option you should have to click, then drag and draw the beam and it will take time for more beams to draw. But remember one thing draw it from one point to other point, not from starting point to end point. That's the wrong way of drawing beams, correct way is from one point to other point, whatever others say but rule is rule. And that rule is from IS Code.
After you complete drawing beams with "Quick Draw" option toolbar draw beams of other floors also. If you have selected up-to 4-stories then draw up-till there by clicking on arrow up and down button.
Oh wait! I forgot to tell you one thing if you draw beam with "Quick Draw" option toolbar then a dash-dash line appears, then only you click it and draw the beam. Like this

So okk, after completing all the floors of the beam next is to draw column. So go to the left side and you will see that column option toolbar appears. Just click on that and after that you see that a "Properties of Object" tab appears at the bottom left side of the screen. From their click on ConcCol. Wait I will show you. You might not understood it.

After clicking on that wait, don't draw. There is also one more step to follow. At the bottom right corner you will see that one story option appears. Click on the dropdown arrow button and click on All stories, so that it creates column  on the whole building. And after that it will appear like this.

So you have completed drawing beam, column and now it's time for drawing slab or roof. That's you have drawn the vertical and horizontal members and now it's time to draw the cover up structures. Wait be cool first πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ’§πŸ’§ So again go to the left side border and see there is a paper like option which is roof. Just search the option Quick Draw roof/slab. Click on that and bring the cursor to the mid of it. Just give a click and roof will draw automatically.
You can see the names of every command of roof/slab. Ans when you click on every command a dialog box appears at the bottom of it at the left corner.

After clicking all the roof/ slabs it will appear like this.
Click on the arrow up or down button and create the roof, floor-by-floor and required image you get it like this, see the 3-D view of your screen.
Ok thank you, this is for today. See you at the next blog.

MACHINES USED AT CONSTRUCTION SITES

The most commonly used machine at any construction site is JCB where it's technical name is Backhoe. It is the most common and widely used machine in any construction project whether its big or small project. It becomes easier and makes the work faster for the companies at any time of interval.    All other machines such as Transit Mixer, Concrete Mixer, Roller etc are also used in any kind of road project or building project. Transit Mixer is used for large large building projects, bridge projects, some kind of road projects etc. whereas concrete mixer is for small building projects. Roller is used for road project and bridge project for its elevation.  For any building project the most commonly used machines are concrete mixer, transit mixer, concrete pump, bar bending machine, needle vibrator, water pump and many more. All these machinery works make the work easier and faster. Otherwise if the work is done with labourers it will take more time and less efficient ...

Importing AutoCAD into Revit

So today in this blog I am going to explain how I made an AutoCAD 2D plan and then imported it into Revit software. So you read this blog from starting to end, then only you'll understand clearly.  This is all basic and not any crisscross idea or ruthless situation. It's very simple. First you do all the basic steps in AutoCAD, and you know what is that. Going to Format, set up the units and bla, bla, bla. After that making all these set-up you start with the drawing plan. You yourself have created a idea "how my drawing plan will look like" or "how will I make it?" But before going into complex, first you make a simple drawing plan, like this    First you make the lines and after that create the room size and area of your own. You are exclusively expert in that. This is the first and foremost drawing plan you have to make. And the rest you know how to make it. All boundary lines, room shape and size, passage, staircase etc. you know it very well.  Now you g...
