Importing AutoCAD into Revit

So today in this blog I am going to explain how I made an AutoCAD 2D plan and then imported it into Revit software. So you read this blog from starting to end, then only you'll understand clearly.

This is all basic and not any crisscross idea or ruthless situation. It's very simple. First you do all the basic steps in AutoCAD, and you know what is that. Going to Format, set up the units and bla, bla, bla. After that making all these set-up you start with the drawing plan. You yourself have created a idea "how my drawing plan will look like" or "how will I make it?" But before going into complex, first you make a simple drawing plan, like this

First you make the lines and after that create the room size and area of your own. You are exclusively expert in that. This is the first and foremost drawing plan you have to make. And the rest you know how to make it. All boundary lines, room shape and size, passage, staircase etc. you know it very well.

Now you go for complex, making all those walls, columns, doors, windows etc. and many more. This process takes a large step and it also takes many hours. You have to be smart and quick and do it in a very easy step and procedure. You build your skills and caliber of your own.

After completing walls, columns, doors, windows, ventilators, chajja's etc. you save the file. No need to give dimensions or write anything in the box. This is done only for the client to show it. But here we are discussing about importing AutoCAD into Revit. You can see my plans here

Don.t get confused with my plan, as I have made this for client only. So I have written all those things and gave dimensions also. But the main theme is how you will import it. And so for that you click here.

I have made all these plans in AutoCAD and after that given all about these details. Wait I will show you one-by-one.

So these are the plans, and the details of these plans are given below. For the room dimensions which you have not seen or whose dimensions cannot be given directly should be mentioned in a table like this.

If you have not clicked on the above link, go and click there. You will understand more about importing and making the wall plan in Revit. But since I have experience in all these so I had done directly. I did it by looking at the AutoCAD plan. After that I copied the ground floor and paste it on the first floor as well as on the second floor also.

And then I imported the flower pots & flower plants, and the tress also. I have made the rendering soon as I have well experienced about that. Before It was lacking me to do all those things. But soon I have got experienced about making these things, it doesn't took much more time to do it. Here's my rendering view.

How to edit grid systems in Etabs

Okk in the last blog I had discussed about Etabs for beginners. You have got at least some ideas about it. If you have not seen it then click here . But here I am going to discuss how you will edit Grids/Columns in Etabs. As I had said by clicking on "Modify/Show Grid Systems" option a new dialog box appears, their you can edit anything. But you can also do it by different way. On the left side in grid dimensions (plan) you can see that two options are available. One is "Uniform Grid Spacing" and the other is "Custom Grid Spacing". Click on the "Custom Grid Spacing" and you see that Edit Grid Data option is available. Just click on that, and you can edit it as you want by giving the required dimensions in X-axis and Y-axis only. Ok whatever be lets come to the topic. If you have done it like as I have shown earlier then follow those steps. And the one who were new to this blog this is just for that. That's why I underlined with BLUE line an...

How to make Staircase in Etabs

In the last blog I had described about making beams, columns, slabs/roofs in Etabs. But I forgot to tell you how to make staircase. Apology for that. But today in this blog I am going to discuss how to make staircase in Etabs. So before making Staircase first of all delete one side of the slab by single click. But remember one thing in the story side you should have to click "All Stories" so that automatically all slabs will get deleted and required gap and positioning will be appeared.  First click on All Stories After that select one portion of slab   After that go to Edit menu and click on Delete   Then one part of the slab of each story becomes hollow So doing the following steps you can now make the staircase. As for staircase we need hollow section at the top of it, so that it's free to move. In practical field also you can't provide staircase if the roof is covered with slab. Now the main procedure begins for Etabs.  Go to define tab menu and click on Se...

PROJECT PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT

To build any city, infrastructure, road-planning and development of industrial areas project is planned and after that the work is started. Without planning no project can be done and no plan can be issued . So before doing any work in any company planning is made first and after that the project is made. Always remember that every work has some instance and forbidden. But never be happy for instance work and never be sad for forbidden work. Now, the most important thing is what you will do before doing any project or before planning any project? Do not panic. As the senior advice you just follow the steps and you will definitely able to create a wonderful project. Because the planning is done in AutoCAD but before planning the soil is tested and the area is surveyed as to find the right and actual position of the project. Step-by-step every work is done and in survey every point is taken.  In today's world every system is build on planning and technology. Without technology...
