Flyover Construction going on in Tinsukia

A newly made flyover construction is going on at Tinsukia district in Sripuria road. The flyover has completed half of its project at one side. And remaining half is remaining to be done. They have made all the bridges columns, starting from A1 to P7. And rest of the RP1 to A2 is remaining to do so.

Now the girders construction work is going on. And also they are planning to hope for the RE Wall to make at the approach side. That construction work will be done very soon. But the project is really interesting to seem so. The whole Tinsukia will look amazing after this project and it will also make good and ease for transportation.

For this project, the bridge has a span length of 60 meters, at the railway overhead crossing. It will be an arch bridge type and will also look amazing too. Others have a span length of 30 meters or even more or less so. But from every column to column all girders have a span length of 30 meters max. Only two columns are there which have 15 meters expansion joint, i.e., span length.

Now the main thing comes here is about the RE Wall, since I am a RE Wall designer. I have went there for a project of about RE Wall which is going to be construct there. Here are some photos of the approach side area

So the road is a curve type, and so the approach area would also be made like that. The design work is going on and soon the project will be started. The bridge will be made from IOCL land to Park gate. The total length of the flyover may be 700 meters (approx.) At one side the RE Wall will be about 90 meters i.e., A1 side. And the other side would be 30 meters, i.e., A2 side. All these construction work and construction phase are being going on now.

Although the PSC girder works are going on now at the spans area. Knowing that this bridge will be completed soon. As the work is going on fast and steadily. No other lack of determination can be seen with the employees. They are doing their work with high courage and determination.

At the Railway overhead crossing steel girders would be given, with a span length of about 60 meters. After that the arch steels would be given and it will be an arch bridge. A spiral staircase would also be made there. At each of the columns spiral staircase will be given, so that the pedestrians would come and becomes easy for their going. Hope to see this flyover very soon in the coming days. Really, it will look quite amazing and pleasing to look at.

Remember one thing, the gradient of RE Wall is 1:30 or 1:35, in most of the cases. It includes approach slab also, which has a total length of about 3.5 meters - 5 meters (varies in most of the cases). A dirt wall is also given on the abutment, so that it can spill away the dirt's coming from the approaches, to protect the bearings. That is, it prevents the bearings from getting decay. As well as approach slab and friction slab is also given, after completion of RE Wall erection's work.
Approach slab is given above the dirt wall, to significant reduce the local settlement and to accommodate global settlement by providing a gradual transition between the road-way and the bridge deck. So also friction slab, that is also given to transfer the lateral loads due to the impact vehicles on the crash barrier.

And lots of lots of things are given in the concept of this RE Wall. It would take a one blog to explain this whole thing. There are lots of technical and geological advantages of giving this RE Wall in any bridge project. Moreover, it saves the economy of the client.

How to edit grid systems in Etabs

Okk in the last blog I had discussed about Etabs for beginners. You have got at least some ideas about it. If you have not seen it then click here . But here I am going to discuss how you will edit Grids/Columns in Etabs. As I had said by clicking on "Modify/Show Grid Systems" option a new dialog box appears, their you can edit anything. But you can also do it by different way. On the left side in grid dimensions (plan) you can see that two options are available. One is "Uniform Grid Spacing" and the other is "Custom Grid Spacing". Click on the "Custom Grid Spacing" and you see that Edit Grid Data option is available. Just click on that, and you can edit it as you want by giving the required dimensions in X-axis and Y-axis only. Ok whatever be lets come to the topic. If you have done it like as I have shown earlier then follow those steps. And the one who were new to this blog this is just for that. That's why I underlined with BLUE line an...

MACHINES USED AT CONSTRUCTION SITES

The most commonly used machine at any construction site is JCB where it's technical name is Backhoe. It is the most common and widely used machine in any construction project whether its big or small project. It becomes easier and makes the work faster for the companies at any time of interval.    All other machines such as Transit Mixer, Concrete Mixer, Roller etc are also used in any kind of road project or building project. Transit Mixer is used for large large building projects, bridge projects, some kind of road projects etc. whereas concrete mixer is for small building projects. Roller is used for road project and bridge project for its elevation.  For any building project the most commonly used machines are concrete mixer, transit mixer, concrete pump, bar bending machine, needle vibrator, water pump and many more. All these machinery works make the work easier and faster. Otherwise if the work is done with labourers it will take more time and less efficient ...

Importing AutoCAD into Revit

So today in this blog I am going to explain how I made an AutoCAD 2D plan and then imported it into Revit software. So you read this blog from starting to end, then only you'll understand clearly.  This is all basic and not any crisscross idea or ruthless situation. It's very simple. First you do all the basic steps in AutoCAD, and you know what is that. Going to Format, set up the units and bla, bla, bla. After that making all these set-up you start with the drawing plan. You yourself have created a idea "how my drawing plan will look like" or "how will I make it?" But before going into complex, first you make a simple drawing plan, like this    First you make the lines and after that create the room size and area of your own. You are exclusively expert in that. This is the first and foremost drawing plan you have to make. And the rest you know how to make it. All boundary lines, room shape and size, passage, staircase etc. you know it very well.  Now you g...
