SURVEYING BY TOTAL STATION

 As you all know that survey is the most important part of construction field. For any type of construction work survey is needed. But the that is most important in now a days is Total Station and Auto-Level. The types of survey that you have learnt in colleges is all oudated (i.e., it has no use in today's world). It's all about kinds of survey that is used in olden days. 

The types of surveys such as Chain Survey, Compass Survey, Plane Table Survey, Theodolite Survey has no use now-a-days. It's all outdated and Total Station, GPS Survey, Auto-Level only are all usable now-a-day's. 


While doing survey by Total Station you should be careful with levelling the bubble level. As you all know this. But there might be some points where you should be careful, mostly in the case of undulated ground surface. Then you should have to adjust the spirit level. After doing this then you should have to find the center. All this step-by-step process you should have to learn with a well profession Surveyor.

In the same way Auto-Level also should be adjusted. But here only bubble level is there, not the spirit level. After adjusting the bubble level you should have to find the center. And after that go on surveying, starting with bench mark, then BS, followed by IS, followed with FS.

For every Civil Engineering field surveying is the most important subject as well as in the practical field also. For doing any construction first of all soil testing and after that surveying is done. So for this practical knowledge is very important. And you should be aware of that. 

Now the topic is about "Surveying by Total Station". But let me tell you before there are different brands of total station such as South, Sokkia, Topcon, Leica etc. All these have same usage but operating system is different. Because when I used South and Sokkia I had found these two have different operating systems. Because once I was fully experienced with South then I found somewhat different with Sokkia. But the function is same i.e., to read the co-ordinates of different positions and points.

Many Total Stations have various objectives in their usage. All these can be operated by different modes of keys. But the function is same and the data is about finding the co-ordinates. And how to use the Total Station step-by-step will be discussed in the next topic.

How to make Staircase in Etabs

 In the last blog I had described about making beams, columns, slabs/roofs in Etabs. But I forgot to tell you how to make staircase. Apology for that. But today in this blog I am going to discuss how to make staircase in Etabs. So before making Staircase first of all delete one side of the slab by single click. But remember one thing in the story side you should have to click "All Stories" so that automatically all slabs will get deleted and required gap and positioning will be appeared.  First click on All Stories After that select one portion of slab   After that go to Edit menu and click on Delete   Then one part of the slab of each story becomes hollow So doing the following steps you can now make the staircase.
