WHAT IS PEDESTAL IN FOOTING ?

During foundation you should always be careful that there is no water present in the excavation pit and the depth should be accurate. So for that you need manwork and labourers to maintain it's accuracy. So before going further for any work just be careful that the depth of foundation is accurate and no error should be made. Because the structure of a building is fully depend upon foundation. And this is general sense that the all the building loads are carried to the foundation i.e., footing.

Before doing any foundation work first of all brick soiling is to be done or sand filling. The building where high rise structures are made, sand filling is done; but the house with ground floor, brick soiling is sufficient. But from where you will get the bricks. Obviously you will have to order or bring it from bricks factory where bricks are made. And after bringing the bricks where you will placed them?  (Actually all these practical knowledge are not taught in the college so you will have to build up your own practical skills by learning at the site.) So just see at the site if there is a free space living there, if there then then stag it with proper order with the help of the workers. And after that you can use it for your work.

Okk, now there are some important steps you should have to follow during foundation and pedestal column. No matter how much difficult the work is, but the main important thing is that you should have to be careful for the starting days while making the foundation. Because, one silly mistake can make the whole structure fail.

There are many specific mistakes that the mistry makes during foundation work. First of all he dosen't make cutting in the accurate level which later becomes difficulty in placing the shuttering. Second thing he should have to clear out the water from the excavation pit. This seems to be difficult but by using water pump it makes the work easy. The shuttering should be placed in right position at 90 angle.

There are also many different kinds of situations happens at the site such as briming up of water level above foundation, Column head not placed in proper position, mix of concrete is not appropriate etc. all these things can happen.

Just careful about the failures that happens at the site. Some failures such as seepage of soil, loosen soil. Rise of water level, unnecessary rubbish falling at the site, using wooden bit at the site for foundation. All these small small things should be taken care of.

MACHINES USED AT CONSTRUCTION SITES

The most commonly used machine at any construction site is JCB where it's technical name is Backhoe. It is the most common and widely used machine in any construction project whether its big or small project. It becomes easier and makes the work faster for the companies at any time of interval.    All other machines such as Transit Mixer, Concrete Mixer, Roller etc are also used in any kind of road project or building project. Transit Mixer is used for large large building projects, bridge projects, some kind of road projects etc. whereas concrete mixer is for small building projects. Roller is used for road project and bridge project for its elevation.  For any building project the most commonly used machines are concrete mixer, transit mixer, concrete pump, bar bending machine, needle vibrator, water pump and many more. All these machinery works make the work easier and faster. Otherwise if the work is done with labourers it will take more time and less efficient ...

How to edit grid systems in Etabs

Okk in the last blog I had discussed about Etabs for beginners. You have got at least some ideas about it. If you have not seen it then click here . But here I am going to discuss how you will edit Grids/Columns in Etabs. As I had said by clicking on "Modify/Show Grid Systems" option a new dialog box appears, their you can edit anything. But you can also do it by different way. On the left side in grid dimensions (plan) you can see that two options are available. One is "Uniform Grid Spacing" and the other is "Custom Grid Spacing". Click on the "Custom Grid Spacing" and you see that Edit Grid Data option is available. Just click on that, and you can edit it as you want by giving the required dimensions in X-axis and Y-axis only. Ok whatever be lets come to the topic. If you have done it like as I have shown earlier then follow those steps. And the one who were new to this blog this is just for that. That's why I underlined with BLUE line an...

Importing AutoCAD into Revit

So today in this blog I am going to explain how I made an AutoCAD 2D plan and then imported it into Revit software. So you read this blog from starting to end, then only you'll understand clearly.  This is all basic and not any crisscross idea or ruthless situation. It's very simple. First you do all the basic steps in AutoCAD, and you know what is that. Going to Format, set up the units and bla, bla, bla. After that making all these set-up you start with the drawing plan. You yourself have created a idea "how my drawing plan will look like" or "how will I make it?" But before going into complex, first you make a simple drawing plan, like this    First you make the lines and after that create the room size and area of your own. You are exclusively expert in that. This is the first and foremost drawing plan you have to make. And the rest you know how to make it. All boundary lines, room shape and size, passage, staircase etc. you know it very well.  Now you g...
