DEWATERING

What is dewatering and why dewatering is important? You never know that. But if you are an experience enough you are cleared with this term. But if you are studying in college and not visited any site then you may never know this. But by the way if you are a farmer's son then you might have used this machine.

Dewatering is necessary if the foundation pit is full of water and no PCC or sand filling can be provided. If the water is present it will lead to the accommodation of water. No work will be done properly and there will be lot of tension. So to empty the water mechanical water pump is used for dewatering. So that the excavation pit remains empty with water and the work can be done easily.

As the water is poured inside the pump it opens up through the valve. But be careful no air should remain inside or trapped into the machine. Otherwise the machine will give problem. After pouring all the water in the pump, the mouth is kept hold for few seconds of the machine so that no air enters in it. And it is hold until the machine gives starts. The mechanical turbine is rotated with the help of a handle and it gives a blowout pressure as the water comes out. The main thing of using this water pump is to clear out the excavation water.

Moreover in some foundations water remains, but it will longer time to clear out the water. So by keeping little amount of water on the base of the excavation the brick soiling and PCC work is done. But that's not good. Then also what to do because after clearing out the ground water then also it remains same after 1 to 2 hours. Because the water level rises up and up.

MACHINES USED AT CONSTRUCTION SITES

The most commonly used machine at any construction site is JCB where it's technical name is Backhoe. It is the most common and widely used machine in any construction project whether its big or small project. It becomes easier and makes the work faster for the companies at any time of interval.    All other machines such as Transit Mixer, Concrete Mixer, Roller etc are also used in any kind of road project or building project. Transit Mixer is used for large large building projects, bridge projects, some kind of road projects etc. whereas concrete mixer is for small building projects. Roller is used for road project and bridge project for its elevation.  For any building project the most commonly used machines are concrete mixer, transit mixer, concrete pump, bar bending machine, needle vibrator, water pump and many more. All these machinery works make the work easier and faster. Otherwise if the work is done with labourers it will take more time and less efficient ...

How to edit grid systems in Etabs

Okk in the last blog I had discussed about Etabs for beginners. You have got at least some ideas about it. If you have not seen it then click here . But here I am going to discuss how you will edit Grids/Columns in Etabs. As I had said by clicking on "Modify/Show Grid Systems" option a new dialog box appears, their you can edit anything. But you can also do it by different way. On the left side in grid dimensions (plan) you can see that two options are available. One is "Uniform Grid Spacing" and the other is "Custom Grid Spacing". Click on the "Custom Grid Spacing" and you see that Edit Grid Data option is available. Just click on that, and you can edit it as you want by giving the required dimensions in X-axis and Y-axis only. Ok whatever be lets come to the topic. If you have done it like as I have shown earlier then follow those steps. And the one who were new to this blog this is just for that. That's why I underlined with BLUE line an...

Importing AutoCAD into Revit

So today in this blog I am going to explain how I made an AutoCAD 2D plan and then imported it into Revit software. So you read this blog from starting to end, then only you'll understand clearly.  This is all basic and not any crisscross idea or ruthless situation. It's very simple. First you do all the basic steps in AutoCAD, and you know what is that. Going to Format, set up the units and bla, bla, bla. After that making all these set-up you start with the drawing plan. You yourself have created a idea "how my drawing plan will look like" or "how will I make it?" But before going into complex, first you make a simple drawing plan, like this    First you make the lines and after that create the room size and area of your own. You are exclusively expert in that. This is the first and foremost drawing plan you have to make. And the rest you know how to make it. All boundary lines, room shape and size, passage, staircase etc. you know it very well.  Now you g...
