PLACING OF CONCRETE AND ITS MIXING

There are some skills that are need to be gained by site engineer, contractor and mistry as well as the site supervisor. They must be aware and conquer about the cure of concrete. There are some certain issues which are to be faced during placing of concrete.

       (a) First of all the reinforcement should be checked whether the nominal cover or clear cover is given or not. Otherwise this will lead to the rusting of reinforcement which will caused due to its atmospheric effect when water or muddy soil will enter into the pores or voids of the concrete.

      (b) The next typical thing is that the shuttering should be checked whether it is straight or not or according to the drawing is given or not, max. end to end distance is provided or not. Because after pouring the concrete it will not be possible to adjust or remake it. Therefore all things should be checked before placing of concrete.

      (c) The most important thing is that, the vibrator must be their at the site. Without vibrator the placing of concrete is of no use. It will lead to honeycomb like structures and failure of concrete. Therefore after placing of concrete upto the brim level the vibrator must be used.

HOW  TO  MIX  THE  CONCRETE

One of the most important thing is that the workers dosen't know how to mix the concrete. They think that they are the most experts in mixing the concrete but can't identify the ratio in what order to mix. For PCC the ratio is 1:3:6 and for RCC the ratio is 1:1.5:3 and above this is also given but the given ratio is for building works or dam works.

But before doing any concreting work first of all cube test should be done. It should be in the ratio 1:1.5:3. It is placed in the cube mould and after that it is taken in the lab for testing.

Moreover the further placing of concrete is to be done in a systematic manner or lucent manner. Otherwise there will be faulty in any case of concreting work. Be careful with mistry, contractor and supervisor. They think themselves to be the best because of experience in all this type of works. But the main technical term of this work is dosen't known by them. Neither they know the use of vibrator nor the mixing of aggregates as per w/c ratio.

MACHINES USED AT CONSTRUCTION SITES

The most commonly used machine at any construction site is JCB where it's technical name is Backhoe. It is the most common and widely used machine in any construction project whether its big or small project. It becomes easier and makes the work faster for the companies at any time of interval.    All other machines such as Transit Mixer, Concrete Mixer, Roller etc are also used in any kind of road project or building project. Transit Mixer is used for large large building projects, bridge projects, some kind of road projects etc. whereas concrete mixer is for small building projects. Roller is used for road project and bridge project for its elevation.  For any building project the most commonly used machines are concrete mixer, transit mixer, concrete pump, bar bending machine, needle vibrator, water pump and many more. All these machinery works make the work easier and faster. Otherwise if the work is done with labourers it will take more time and less efficient ...

How to edit grid systems in Etabs

Okk in the last blog I had discussed about Etabs for beginners. You have got at least some ideas about it. If you have not seen it then click here . But here I am going to discuss how you will edit Grids/Columns in Etabs. As I had said by clicking on "Modify/Show Grid Systems" option a new dialog box appears, their you can edit anything. But you can also do it by different way. On the left side in grid dimensions (plan) you can see that two options are available. One is "Uniform Grid Spacing" and the other is "Custom Grid Spacing". Click on the "Custom Grid Spacing" and you see that Edit Grid Data option is available. Just click on that, and you can edit it as you want by giving the required dimensions in X-axis and Y-axis only. Ok whatever be lets come to the topic. If you have done it like as I have shown earlier then follow those steps. And the one who were new to this blog this is just for that. That's why I underlined with BLUE line an...

How to make 3D Render in Etabs

Ok, so in the last two blogs I had described about how to make  beams, columns, slabs  and  staircase  in Etabs. But as a beginner for somebody it's easy whereas for someone it's rough to understand or have misconception. If you have not understood or read it then go to the above links and practice it again. And if you have understood then it's good and go forward for the upcoming steps. Because the more you learn, the more you understand. The more you get knowledge, the more you learn new things. So if you want to render like as if I had rendered it then you are on the right website. Just follow the instructions as I have told you.  This is the Rendering view, which I have Rendered. You can also see the 3D View also. After making the complete building structure and modelling all those beams, columns, slabs, staircase etc. you come to the ribbon wizard which is above plan view or 3-D view. You can see a Tick-mark ☑ option which is also known as "Set Displa...
