SOFTWARES OF CIVIL ENGINEERING

You all may be thinking about the software's that are used in Civil Engineering related field. As a student I had also been thinking about the software's that are used in the Civil Engineering field. But now I am a passed out student from Civil Engineering and I have learnt the software's and quite familiar with all these software's. And if you want to take my advice then I am sure you are going to be the perfect Civil Engineer by learning all these software's. No one can bit you and you are going to get job in every company. Just think yourself that I am the perfect and I can be the one to build myself as a Civil Engineer.

1. AUTOCAD

AutoCAD is the primary and basic software of civil engineer. Without learning this you can never be perfect in other software's. This software is the main key role for everybody. Not only Civil but Electrical, Mechanical, Automobile etc. all of them get their first learning with AutoCAD. This is an easy software and you will get all basic knowledge by learning this. Easy in the sense that "once you learn the commands you need not to ask again or forget it". But other software's are such that if you do not practice for a month then you are going to forget it.

2. AUTODESK REVIT

Revit is the most fantastic and lucent software. It is the second software after AutoCAD. Once you became expert with AutoCAD 3D then you will be able to learn all the commands of Revit also. Most engineers once they become expert with Revit, they are able to do job in any field and in any company. Because the features of rendering that are available in Revit are the most glorious and good looking image. You can show your project by animation to your client.

3. EXCEL

Out of above two software's excel is the heart of every Civil Engineers. Because all data entry work are done in excel. Because estimation, quantity survey & rate analysis, billing, contracts work, DPR each and everything are done in excel. There is not so much about me say in excel, once you learn by yourself you will get to know. Because what I say is not enough then what you you will do. Out of every MS Office; Excel is the only software that is used day by day.

4. 3DS MAX

Like as Revit, 3DS Max is also the software that is used by every Civil & Architect to design home, buildings etc. It gives a nice drastic view and good looking picture that looks attractive. But however I advise you to learn AutoCAD & Revit because these two software's are the most widely used software.

5. GOOGLE SKETCH-UP

These is also the same software like Revit & 3DS Max. Here also the building design can be done but it looks magnificient like other softwares. On the other hand in this software it has all the options that you want to design. And it gives a nice appearance image while rendering.

6. STAAD PRO

Staad Pro is a structural software where you can designs various types of structures as per your needs. You can  design Bridge structure, house structure, foundation design etc. Actually what I mean to say is that, that software is used only for infrastructure designs that rest on the earth. You can get all the BBS details, load details, whether structure is safe or not each and everything.

7. ETABS

Etabs is basically a CSI software where it works same like as staad pro Vi8 software. But here the BBS details are shown of each and every section of the building. But the most basically used software is staad pro.

8. PRIMAVERA

Primavera is the most used software for project management and details. In this software the number of labours required to do a particular work, the time required to complete the task of project, the number of employees required all such things are done in Primavera. Basically this is a smart software for me than that of MSP software. Because all details are shown in the chart above and below, and you can identify each and every data below the gant chart i.e. details of each and every tab.

9. MSP

MSP software works like as same as that of Primavera. But as I have said above that Primavera is the smart software than that of MSP and it is basically for me 😃😃😃. I don't know for others for all them have different set of view. But yeah I feel smart when I work on that software.

MACHINES USED AT CONSTRUCTION SITES

The most commonly used machine at any construction site is JCB where it's technical name is Backhoe. It is the most common and widely used machine in any construction project whether its big or small project. It becomes easier and makes the work faster for the companies at any time of interval.    All other machines such as Transit Mixer, Concrete Mixer, Roller etc are also used in any kind of road project or building project. Transit Mixer is used for large large building projects, bridge projects, some kind of road projects etc. whereas concrete mixer is for small building projects. Roller is used for road project and bridge project for its elevation.  For any building project the most commonly used machines are concrete mixer, transit mixer, concrete pump, bar bending machine, needle vibrator, water pump and many more. All these machinery works make the work easier and faster. Otherwise if the work is done with labourers it will take more time and less efficient ...

How to edit grid systems in Etabs

Okk in the last blog I had discussed about Etabs for beginners. You have got at least some ideas about it. If you have not seen it then click here . But here I am going to discuss how you will edit Grids/Columns in Etabs. As I had said by clicking on "Modify/Show Grid Systems" option a new dialog box appears, their you can edit anything. But you can also do it by different way. On the left side in grid dimensions (plan) you can see that two options are available. One is "Uniform Grid Spacing" and the other is "Custom Grid Spacing". Click on the "Custom Grid Spacing" and you see that Edit Grid Data option is available. Just click on that, and you can edit it as you want by giving the required dimensions in X-axis and Y-axis only. Ok whatever be lets come to the topic. If you have done it like as I have shown earlier then follow those steps. And the one who were new to this blog this is just for that. That's why I underlined with BLUE line an...

Excavation for RE Wall.

So, hey guys! How are you? You might have read my previous blogs about panel casting  and panel placing . Now it's time to learn about panel erection or what to do after 3-4 months of casting the panels. So the first step is about excavation for RE Wall. Then only you can erect the panels. So let us learn about this excavation part.  You all know excavation work is done by JCB or Falkland. To excavate the soil and then carry it to the other dumped areas. But before excavation you all know, to marked the center line as well as the outer line also so that the area doesn't excavate much as per the requirement. For excavation just you need to take 500mm more, then that of the given drawing.  Doing this excavation is easy. But what to do if it's flooded with rain water/ or water coming from other sources. Definitely your answer will be to do dewatering work with a water pump. That's fine. But do this dewatering work with almost by fixing 3-4 water pumps. So that it soaks...
